Alexander Hobohm

Alexander studied interior architecture at the Universities of Wiesbaden and Trier (Germany) focusing on sensitive interventions in existing building context and regeneration of industrial heritage. In 2008 he gained an MSc in Historic Conservation from Oxford Brookes University with research on changes in church legislation and use patterns. Before moving to Cambridge, Alexander worked on the relocation and repair of timber framed buildings in Kent, gaining in depth experience of traditional crafts such as oak framing and long-straw thatching.
Alexander joined Freeland Rees Roberts Architects in 2005 and has been involved in Cambridge and Oxford college refurbishments, alterations to churches and listed buildings and a new visitor centre for the City of London. Alexander is currently working on various projects for the Compton Estates and has recently completed a major scheme for new student accommodation for Clare College, Cambridge.
Alexander was made a Director in 2021.
